Twinkle will be at the Mission Bazaar on May 17th and 18th at the Armory in the Mission district in San Francisco . This event should be a fun one with lots of shopping opportunities. We will be giving a sneak peak of our upcoming Fall/Winter collection!

There will be music, food, and all sorts of entertainment. And the location is a unique one – at the Armory, a reproduction of a Moorish castle which was completed in 1914 and has not been open to the public in the past 30 years. So come and check it out!

Patchwork Show: Lessons Learned May 6, 2008

patchworkbooth.jpgOn Sunday, I attended the Patchwork Show in Santa Ana which was organized by Nicole of RandomNicole.com and her aunt Delilah of Road Less Traveled, an eco-chic boutique. It was a gorgeous day with plenty of California sunshine and a nice breeze and there was a pretty good turnout, despite the location being a little hard to find.

We have done a few craft shows in the past (Craft Republic and Bazaar Bizarre) and have learned a few things each time we did them. This time was no different. Since this was our first outdoor show, there were some new challenges we faced:

  • The sun: Normally, I love the weather here. I love that I don’t have to wear my jacket year-round like I did when I lived in the Bay Area.  Sunday was no exception.  However, a bit of shade would have been nice, so I’ll definitely bring a tent to our next outdoor show. At least I got a nice tan!
  • The wind: The Santa Ana winds kicked up a bit yesterday, cooling me off when the sun started to get too hot. Our displays didn’t appreciate it as much. We had made some pretty new displays for Bazaar Bizarre, but as soon as I put them up, the wind knocked them over. Luckily I had our old displays with me. We’ll have to re-think the design for next time.

Despite these challenges, I still had a great time meeting people and selling our jewelry. This was a good learning experience and I’ll definitely apply these lessons to other fairs we do in the future.

As for customer favorites, there were some old ones and new ones on Sunday. The Lotus Necklace and Peacock Earrings continued to top the list but the Sunflower Necklace and the Oceana Bracelet were popular too.   Check out these and our other great styles on our website.

Lastly, thanks to all of you who showed up to support Twinkle.  We really appreciate you coming out to see us.  Hope to see you at our next fair!

VH1 Big Shopping Day March 14, 2008

Filed under: Event, In the Media — shoptwinkle @ 11:30 pm

The VH1 Third Annual BIG Shopping Day is coming up on Saturday, April 26, 2008 in Los Angeles.

“Old Hollywood Glamour meets Rock ‘N Roll for the ultimate shopping experience – all to benefit VH1 Save The Music’s work to restore instrumental music education in U.S. public schools.”

Whose gonna be there? Here are some to name a few:

Host Committee to include: Christina Applegate, Tova Bonem,Daisy Fuentes, Tim Gunn, Neil Patrick Harris, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lenny Kravitz, Benji Madden, Joel Madden, Lara Morgenson Mya, Sara Ramirez, Kelly Rowland, Alison Sweeney, Raven Symone, Michael Urie, Chris Webber, Pete Wentz, Vanessa Williams, Venus Williams, and more…

If you’d like to purchase tickets, you can buy them from the VH1 Save the Music Foundation website.

Why is this so important to us? With public school budgets getting cut year after year, and programs such as music and arts disappearing from American children’s education, we feel it is our responsibility to take action and help bring it back. So please come and support this cause by attending, donating, or even by shopping!

Yes shopping! From now until April 30th, Twinkle is going to donate 10% of proceeds from the sale of the Olive Crush Necklace, to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation. Why the Olive Crush? Because these will be included in the VIP Gift Bags for the Big Shopping Day in LA. So, be your own VIP, buy the Olive Crush and save the Music! ;)

A Great Bazaar December 21, 2007

Filed under: Event — shoptwinkle @ 12:13 am

We apologize for being radio silent for the past month! We have been very busy making jewelry for you and all of you who have placed orders on our site. We value your business and hope that you are happy with your purchases. And we hope that you liked our complimentary gift wrapping.

This month has been a great one for us. We just finished up with Bazaar Bizarre in San Francisco at Golden Gate Park this past Saturday. What a wonderful event! There were over 3000 people who attended and quite a few swung by our table. We had a great time meeting everyone and speaking about our line of jewelry and of course selling our jewelry. We were also lucky enough to be visited by some celebrity bloggers like Liana from MixedPlateBlog who recently moved to the Bay Area from Hawaii.

At BazBiz we again had some definite favorites. Here’s what the Bazaar Bizarre attendees liked:

#1 TopSeller- The Wood Fan Earrings(both with and without the bead)

#2 Top Seller - Shell Necklace

#3 Top Seller -Double Teardrop Earrings

#4 Top Seller - The Lotus Necklace

#5 Top Seller - Silver Drop Earrings

We will definitely be keeping all of the above in stock for those of you who were not able to attend the fair.

We have a few more fairs coming up in the coming new year. We will keep you posted and let you know when and where we will be.

Until then, Happy Holidays and a Safe and Happy New Year. We thank you for your support.

CR Fair: New friends, old friends November 15, 2007

Filed under: Event — shoptwinkle @ 5:55 pm

booth.jpgWe had a lot of fun at the Craft Republic Fair last weekend. It wasn’t the most ideal of situations with the super-secret-need-to-be-a-detective location, expensive parking fee, and competing events like the Computer Fair (ok, we might have won over that one) and the Jay Leno motorcycle show (yes, Jay Leno and his motorbike crew. Even I would have been detoured to that event especially hearing all the vroom-vrooming all afternoon long) but nevertheless, we had fun! We enjoyed setting up our booth and displaying our line of jewelry. We received many compliments and we’re getting a pretty good idea of which pieces are the definite favorites.

But most of all, we had a great time because of all of the other vendors at the fair. It was great to meet such talented crafters, especially Earmark Invitations, whom was so helpful with her tips and tricks for Farmer’s Market and Craft Fairs, and Marie R, the blogger for marimello.blogspot.com whom within 1 minute of talking to her you know she’s gotta be a blogger, and finally, re-meeting an old high school classmate of mine, Nicole of RandomNicole.com whom is such a huge success with her artistic apparel.

So, thank you Craft Republic for holding the event and a thank you to all the other vendors there. And Jay Leno – next year man, you better watch out. ;)

Bazaar Bizarre Fair – See you there. October 23, 2007

Filed under: Event — shoptwinkle @ 4:48 pm

Out of hundreds of applications, and only a few select spots, we are proud to announce that we have been accepted as a vendor for the Bazaar Bizarre Fair in San Francisco on Saturday December 15th.

What is Bazaar Bizarre?
“Bazaar Bizarre began in 2001 in the Boston-area as a hodge-podge of friends and acquaintances cobbling together their handcrafted DIY wares to sell and staging an offbeat entertainment extravaganza. In 2004 the Bazaar Bizarre spread to Los Angeles and Cleveland and in 2006 Make took us under their wing to include the Bazaar Bizarre as part of the Maker Faire in the San Francisco-area every spring. The Bazaars in Boston, Cleveland, Los Angeles and San Francisco happen every year during peak holiday shopping season in December.”

We are very excited and hope to see you there!
